That would be a nice feature... let me see what I can do about that. |

Got an idea for an improvement. With one of the recordings in the Tour we had the problem that it had to be played back using Spectaculator 5.3. It didn't play back on the newest version.
So, in case people don't check the info page, where I've written that it must be played back with 5.3 they don't know that. I think that it would be nice to have a system leader only comment box, where the system leader can add a comment that is sticked to the recording on the scoreboard, and that only the system leader can delete or edit. It could be in a box of its own below the possible own comments by the player, or it could be in another colour saying something like:
System Leader: 'comment'
Is that a stupid idea? _________________ Frankie

good idea, that is also better than marp where the player can "accidentally" edit the editors comment out. |

Well, there goes 1100 users just like that... now we're down to 92. Those who submitted a recording or those who have just registered are the only ones who remain.
The rest were spam or never submitted a recording, so I'm freeing up the usernames for those who want them. |

People will come, just takes time and word of mouth. The NES in particular was a huge system for the Internet generation. Sadly, for Chad and I, the number of people looking to compete on the Apple ][ and 2600 is probably more limited.
Anyway, was just wondering if perhaps there should be an 'adult' flag that Editors would attach on some games, to screen/hide them. That may come up as an issue at some point. |

It's an interesting thought... but I'm quite sure that MARP doesn't have an adult flag... and there are a ton of those games out there on MAME... and I'm guessing MARP hasn't gotten in trouble for that. |

hey gb9. compiled list of requests:
1) Radio buttons to automatically select difficulty when submitting (esp for Atari 2600)
2) The ability to list both the parent company and the company of the 'actual' ROM being played (with default set to same) when editing/inserting games.
3) The ability to flag the ROM as checked/unchecked and [fixed] or other relevant flags when editing/inserting games, rather than adding [!] to the name. Maybe flags for Prototype and Homebrew/Public Domain too.
4) Separate fields for general info and submission requirements (again, for editing/insertion purposes)
5) A separate field for inserting a CRC32 tag when doing editing/insertion.
6) Search field improvements as previously detailed by skito and I.
7) Ability to see original comments on the 'info' page.
8) Hyperlinking on 1sts, 2nds, 3rds etc. from leaderboard |

I really need to give Skito a username/password so he can work on this too.
Maybe Zwaxy can give Skito same said so he can take care of MARP....... but that's a different topic for another time. |

it would be nice to just merge the two and put about 5 of you in control of edits and changes, so that someone was always active. MARP as it stands has a definite problem--if no-one enforces/actualizes the votes/decisions/mods, then community interest drops pretty rapidly. structurally, you always want to be evolving into something better--not just trying to hold ground or regressing. |

I'm pretty sure it wildcards only to the right... unless you place a % sign to the left of what you want. |
