A few things of note:

(1) image cache isn't working as well as i thought the patch was fixed, this is too bad since i want to make the image cache work in the last version of mess that keeps the gui, i might make a revision of 125 for this.

(2) gameboy had a problem with 255+ titles, this issue appears to have been fixed.

(3) amiga recording works, however the amiga keyboard inputs can not be used. Joystick inputs work, but keyboard issues just won't get passed to emulation. I'm hoping barry or mjs might be able to detect a quick fix, since it was working in previous versions.

Hmm... maybe it's missing all IPT_KEYBOARD inputs. They are mapped to actual input ports, so can you tell me if the keyboard inputs are being recorded and not played back, or simply just not recorded?

Since INP files are handled by the MAME core, then any fix will be to MAME. I'll certainly have a look at some point, though.

What i can do is map keyboard keys to joystick inputs because i can hit fire and joystick movements register. But, it looks like keyboard inputs (no matter what they are mapped from) are not registered at all, recording not required. Basically i found this out in nuebulus by not being able to hit F8 to get to Mission #2 in nebulus :(, for further testing I made a recording in Quak which playedback but i couldn't enter my initials after play and determined none of the letter keys work along with the F keys. Hopefully having the keyboard keys not input isn't the fix for the playbacks to work :)

Also, i may need some additional help from MJS as my conversion to 125 of his patch to hide borders for the Spectrum system, shows the driver configuration hide borders option but doesn't seem to actually hide the borders when set. ALso, FBI (for barry's info), testing other systems shows the keyboards work on apple2 and spec128.

current patch set

I'd suggest maybe it had something to do with the recent CIA fix or something - but a) I don't know if the CIA handles the keyboard on the Amiga, and b) that fix was added after 0.125.

I also noticed MSX isn't working with 0.125 (attaching a cartridge makes mess crash).
About the spectrum borders problem, I will take a look at it this weekend.

Hmmm... I think I see what's going on... looks like not only keyboard inputs aren't being recorded, but that you can still use them while playing back an INP. That's just so wrong...

Ok, apparently the Amiga keyboard controller emulation in MESS is rather broken.

It is currently being worked on by Robiza, but it requires some MAME core changes to properly fix it. So here's hoping the next MAME update will solve the problem. *crosses fingers*

@Skito! Uh, what going on here? Is there another WolfMess125 patch coming out soon???

I see that C64/Amiga has CIA6526 (whatever that #'s is) fixed after MESS125u1. Is that going to be added on next WolfMess 125.1 patch or next version.

I kind of don't want to but this might be an exception. I haven't built from svn before which might be bad.

MESS hasn't been updated to 0.125u2 yet, there's some fixes to the MAME core for the Amiga keyboard controller. Best to wait until then and take another look.

Ok, MESS has now been updated to 0.125u2, but do be aware that there are likely to be issues with natural keyboard support, and also MESSUI (blame Aaron and another input port "cleanup"). Smile

Updated patches for 0.125 rev 2728:
http://msx.homeactionreplay.org/diff/wolfmess/0.125%20rev%202728/
Everything seems to be working fine again, msx and msx2 both work, and spectrum borders too.

Please update wolfmess Skito Wink
