We're in a little interesting situation with the Neo Geo... many of us know that Neo Geo is an arcade system... but it's also, in fact, a home system.
So... with that in mind... should we add a Neo Geo competition to HARP? Obviously, WolfMAME would be the required program here...
We'd probably say you'd have to set the DIP switches to Home version instead of arcade version... I guess you can still do that...
Opinions welcome. |

Kawaks or Nebula could also be used for Neo Geo AES games too.
Preferably Kawaks, as I think Nebula has some issues with Neo Geo replay playback. _________________ - Barry Rodewald

I keep forgetting it was a home system as well, allbeit an expensive one! Do we know what titles were released for the home console or is it the same as what's currently emulated? I'm guessing what was in the arcade is not necessarily the same as what was available for the home system. _________________ Darren |

I believe any game you can play on the arcade can be played at home as well. I think they all have a DIP switch that says something to the effect of home mode or arcade mode.
I know 2020 Super Baseball is significantly different between the two switches... |

If we were to add Neo-Geo games, we should omit those that had no home release, such as Neo Bomberman. _________________

Technically, there is no real DIP switch for home mode or arcade mode.
The real proper way is to use an AES BIOS.
MVS carts and AES carts can't be interchanged, as they have differing connectors. Although I believe you can get a widget that lets you connect an MVS cart to an AES. MVS carts are so much cheaper. :)
And I forgot about Final Burn Alpha too, another excellent choice for Neo Geo replays.
Neo Geo CD, anyone? _________________ - Barry Rodewald
