MJS defeats Gameboy9, 309.6K to 69.5K
Negative1 defeats Mahlemiut, 85.5K to 36.8K

MJS now competes against the 1 seed, Metrackle...
and Negative1 now competes against the 2 seed, Kale.

The game is Mega Man 4 for the NES... but there is a twist, as I mentioned in my game selection. The fastest first stage moves on to the two game Grand Final. Pick whatever stage you think you can complete the quickest, and try to beat it as fast as you can.

The next round begins tomorrow, June 9, at the still infamous time of 0001 GMT. Don't submit or record before then... or the recording gets da boot! :)

Those eliminated can still play the "home game" to see how well they would have done...... which I plan to do because I picked this game! Smile

That's right - you can pick any one stage. Of course, the challenge may be in that you can only use the mega cannon to defeat the boss, whoever it is. That being said, I have defeated all 8 bosses using just the mega cannon before in Mega Man 4... including Dive Man and Pharaoh Man.

Which version do we use: PRG0 or PRG1? I recorded on the one formerly known as Mega Man 4 (U), which is now PRG0 (same checksum), but I played my old, crappy recording back on PRG1 as well and it worked fine; I didn't even use the right version of the emulator and it still worked (FCE Ultra 98.28 on a replay I recorded on 98.12).

Let's use PRG0. So, in Negative1's case, Mega Man (U) is what you should use.

But I'm not going to kill people if they use PRG1... it probably doesn't matter if I had to take a guess.

in this round..

i can get to the bosses on a few of the levels,
but i can't kill the boss.. (yes, i've watched videos,
and read the FAQS)..

not looking too good...

and i can't jump to save my life.. always
too early or too late !!

Yeah, I'm not good enough to beat these times anyway... that's why I haven't submitted a recording. I'll probably be back for the Tetris Attack round.
